Intelligent ammunition studied and developed by every country of the worldespecially military powerful nation is one of the hotspots in military scientific researchfield. It can be divided into two research directions: the first is to develop new high-techstrategic ammunition, such as missiles; the second is to transform conventionalammunition, make it controlled, to improve firing accuracy. Currently, communicationmethods adopted by different country are different, but the main way is using GPSpositioning satellite.To complete intelligent transformation of conventional ammunition based on radar,the work has done as follow:1. The C-band microstrip antenna array has been designed and simulated. Due tothe limited space on ammunition, using high-resistance silicon as substrate, appliedMicro-Electro-Mechanical Systems(MEMS) processing technology, the antenna hasbeen designed has the advantages as follow: small volume, light weight, can beconformal with ammunition, high sensitive. Size, electrical and physical performance ofmicrostrip antenna with silicon substrate based on MEMS processing technology will benotably improved, which is incomparable in many aspect compared with conventionalmicrowave element.2. The different shapes of the radiating element of the antenna radiation efficiencyhas been obtained by comparative analysis of the antenna on the low-resistance siliconsubstrate, the U-shaped grooves radiating patch antenna and H-shaped groove radiation.It provides a basis to reduce the cost and the size of the antenna.3. There is difficulty of MEMS technology for high-resistance silicon material inthe etching process, sputtering and plating process, the cutting process and thepackaging process. Based on the designed antenna, the processing parameters and themethod have been improved, and the yield of the processing has been improved. Finally,the C-band microstrip antenna array has been manufactured.4. The antenna has been tested in microwave darkroom. The result shows theantenna has little loss, high power, high gain, etc. Each structure of the micros-trip antenna in the HFSS software components are analyzed and demonstrated, inversion toget the error in the machining process.5. Intelligent ammunition guidance system structure based on the C-band array ofmicrostrip antenna has been designed. The shipboard radar control principle ofammunition has been analyzed. In terms of mechanical transformation of conventionalammunition and guidance control system installation project scheme has been proposed.
