In recent years, in order to start the work of coal production and promote the process of information of coal production, the government continuously strengthen the monitoring of coal production, and electric belt scale is an important part of coal production monitoring system. The existing coal production monitoring system usually consists of underground substation, master station, and the monitoring server. The measurement and calibration functions of the electric belt scale are mainly realized in the electric belt scale instrument in master station which make it so difficult and complex to measure and calibration, greatly reduce the working efficiency. The existing belt scale instrument communication mode is relatively single, most of which still use the traditional remote communication interface RS485, and add a instrument that support Ethernet to meet the increasing the need of belt weighing system network, which greatly increased the cost of the system.In order to solve the problems above, this paper introduces a design of belt scale instrument based on LM3S8962underground, effectively applying the safety explosion-proof technology, makes it especially suitable for operation in explosive dust, inflammable and explosive gas environment. The design uses LM3S8962processor based on ARM Cortex-M3kernel as the core control unit, and transplant the embedded real-time operating system uC/OS-II on it, improving operation efficiency and performance of the system, realizing the belt scale measurement, digital liquid crystal display, remote infrared control, industrial Ethernet communication, RS485communications, and other functions, For the parameters of the instrument, besides support for infrared remote control, can also use Ethernet communication or RS485communication methods based on Modbus protocol to read and write.The main contents of this paper are:1. Introduce the structure and working principle of electronic belt scale, according to safety explosion-proof technology, discusses the design idea of coal mine electronic belt scale instrument and attention, and expounds the classification of the instrument, explosion-proof marks and some safety parameters.2. According to the measurement and electronic belt scale operation requirements, design the coal mine electronic belt scale instrument hardware circuit design, including the control unit circuit design, digital liquid crystal display circuit design, infrared remote control circuit design, circuit design and Ethernet communication, RS485communication circuit, switch input and output circuit design and so on.3. According to the hardware circuit of electronic belt scale, and functional requirements, details design and write the electronic belt scale instrument software code, introduces design and implementation method of each software module, and gives the software flow chart and part of the example code.4. Coal Mine electronic belt scale instrument testing method is introduced, and the test results are analyzed in this paper, the analysis of the shortcomings of the design and the improved method are put forward.
