The rapid development of non-asbestos fiber reinforced sealing gasket is mainly because of the prohibited and alternative for asbestos and asbestos products. In the late20th century, industrialized countries further promoted the development and research of non-asbestos fiber reinforced gasket because of more stringent requirements for environmental protection, making it become one of the most prominent of innovative technologies and research hot spots in sealing engineering. Non-asbestos fiber reinforced gasket has many advantages such as production process is simple, the product can be well designed, more varieties, good comprehensive sealing property, a wide source of raw materials, high ratio of performance to price and so on, so many countries in the world focus the emphasis of sealing material development on non-asbestos fiber reinforced gasket material.Formulation and proportions optimization, production process and comprehensive sealing property of non-asbestos gasket have made great progress in the last decade, but this is far from meet the needs of industrial production requires. Property research of non-asbestos reinforced gasket has been developed from simple test and analysis to theory summarize, from short-term property test to long-term aging study, from test analysis to test characterization now in the world. Non-asbestos fiber reinforced gasket is researched in this article, mainly included the following:Firstly the component types and characteristics, the selection principles as well as the production process used in industry of non-asbestos fiber reinforced composite gasket was detailed overviewed and compared. The viscoelastic model of non-asbestos fiber gasket material was constructed by simple combination of the maxwell model and kelvin model, the creep and relaxation constitutive equation under constant temperature and constant load conditions of non-asbestos gasket was obtained through mathematical reasoning. The viscoelastic model parameter was fitted out based on experimental data used1stopt software, then a method studied the creep and relaxation properties of non-asbestos gasket under variable temperature and variable load was introduced, and the calculation formulas was given.Followed the different impact of aramid pulp, cellulose fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers and non-asbestos fibers mixed in different proportions on compression and rebound characteristics as well as the comprehensive sealing property was systematic studied by experiment, and the main reason for these differences was explained. The failure forms of non-asbestos gasket material when it withstand horizontal and vertical load was analyzed, the calculation formulas of tensile strength under different failure forms was given, the impact of different fibers and mixed fibers on the tensile strength of gasket was compared.Finally the product of the gasket transverse tensile strength and its density was taken as the aging damage variable of gasket, the impact of temperature and aging time on the degree of gasket aging damage was researched, the impact of gasket aging damage on compression and rebound rate, stress relaxation rate and sealing characteristics of gasket was analyzed.
