Study On The Edge Space Landscape Design Of Xingqing Palace Park In Xi’an

For the past few years, more and more open parks were constructed, however the designof edge space in old parks transformation and new parks construction has not receivedadequate attention, and the theory of edge space is not perfect, so it is practically significant todo some research in landscape design of edge space in city open parks.This paper summarized the theory of edge space by document analysis method andanalysed it by case analysis method, based on city open parks. On the basis of these research,design the edge space of Xingqing Palace Park, applied the theory into practice.The research of edge space theory discussed its characteristic, function, form, layout andelements. System analysis from the whole to parts of edge space was done and the designdecipline and stratagy of different kinds of edge space were summarized, taking Bessie Parkin Paris, Living Water Park in Chengdu, Da Ci’en Temple Ruins Park in Xi’an as cases.On the foundation of theoretical research and case analysis, according to the principle ofintegration, humanization and multi-layer, the paper put forward the design concept,principles and methods of edge space of Xingqing Palace Park in Xi’an, providing referencesfor the edge space design of city open parks. In the discussion, the suggestion of edge spacedesign was given and the application of the theory in the design of Xingqing Palace Park edgespace was clarified.Finally, in the discussion and recommendations propose my suggestions on the design ofedge space, and Xingqing Palace Park edge space in the design of edge space theoryapplication.
