A Study On The Landscape Promotion And Renovation Of Xingqing Palace Park In Xi’an

Urban Comprehensive park is a system of urban green land to serve for entertainment, rest and cultural education, besides, providing with perfect services and comprehensive functions. Xingqing Palace Park was built into the largest park in Xi’an since our founding from the relics of the Xingqing Palace of Tang Dynasty in1958. During the construction of this park, the site of Diligent Government Palace(a royal palace in Tang Dynasty where Emperor Xuanzong worked diligently for his country and citizens) was discovered. And different from other urban parks, Xingqing Palace Park has historical memory and relics. Xingqing Palace Park is a comprehensive park on the premise of historic preservation, which is built for the very purpose of improving the environment and providing with a comfortable and relax place for citizens. The thesis mainly studies the design method of the promotion and reform of the urban comprehensive park with historical relics, according to the design of the landscape renovation of Xingqing Palace Park in Xi’an.The thesis provides a theoretic analysis of the comprehensive park and its related field concerning with historic preservation. Moreover, a summary is made on the basic characters of the Garden in Tang Dynasty, so as to explore the scale development and historical position of the Xingqing palace. Therefore it is easy to find the relations between it and Xingqing Palace Park in Xi’an. And then through a series of evolution of the present situation of the landscape resources in the park, the author summarizes some existing problems of the park. A discussion about the construction plan and renovation of the Xingqing Palace Park is laid out afterwards,and from which, the general location of the park can be affirmed as well. And the parkis built as an urban comprehensive park featuring a combination of historic preservation, entertainment and a flavor of prosperous Tang Dynasty. In the end, from the history of Xingqing palace in Tang Dynasty, the overall landscape of ascension is bound to improve through a partial innovation on the ground of the original layout by adopting the method of landscape renovation.In the progress of landscape promotion, an effective protection should be guaranteed to the Xingqing Palace Park, especially in the following aspects, the historical relics, landscape environment and the layout of the natural landscape. Only in this way can a real sustainable development be realized. Through the landscape renovation of the park, a conclusion on the design method can be drew, including the collecting and studying of the background material, researching on the situation of the park, he abstracting and expressing of the historical culture, the spatial patterns and the historic preservation. The thesis is expected to be of some value for the improvement and renovation of historical and on-site city landscape.
