The Study On The Development Ability And Spatial Structure Of City In Tumen Area

The continuous progress of economic globalization and regional integration provides a totally new development background for the urbanization in China. Regional economic integration has become an inevitable trend of the development of the area, and it mainly depends on the advantage of the improvement of the economic competitiveness of the region.In order to go with this development trend, the rapid development of Tumen River Area has formed a prototype of the urban system. Currently, under the opportunity of rejuvenating the old industrial bases in northeast China and Chang-Ji-Tu’ development strategy, there is a broad prospects for the development of Tumen River Area.This article starts from the current situation of the Tumen River Area, aiming to deeply analysis the advantages and shortcomings based on the theory and analysis methods in geography, statistics, and metrology. The author uses the experience of home and abroad for reference to manage the practical problems in the process of urbanization in Tumen River Area at both macroscopic and microscopic levels, trying to build a spatial pattern of the urban system to match the actual situation, so as to provide the reference for better and faster development of the whole area.The results of the analysis show that Tumen River Area enjoys a strong ability of regional development, thus, it can promote the growth of new economic. But in terms of the urbanization development, it is still fall behind some other cities, therefore, urban development level remains to be further improved. Yanji has the ability to become the core area of Tumen River Area urbanization, which can lead the development of the whole area."With the improvement of the comprehensive strength in Tumen River Area, setting up a Yanji-Longjing--Tumen integrated development centered portfolio model which was driven by the economic developing axis of Changchun--Jilin--Yanji and the economic developing axis of Dunhua--Yanji-Hunchun is no longer difficult. In the meanwhile, the government should speed up the development of export-oriented economy, strengthen the construction of the border town and core town, and enhance the overall strength and strategic position of Tumen River Area.
