Urban Pedestrian Commercial Street District Space Remediation Strategy Research

As one of the important types of urban public space，pedestrian commercial district isan essential part of environment of urban space. It can provide people with a warm andcomfortable space environment，complete set of functional facilities as well as symbioticshared culture，thus having been hailed as a "Walker’s Paradise". Now，as a part of urbanpublic life，pedestrian commercial district has been paid attention and given welcome bymore and more people. Not only will it ameliorate the quality of the urban environment andrestore the urban context characteristics，but also improve the urban landscape，and richpeople’s life. It has become an integrated carrier of city politics，economy，culture andtrade，playing an increasingly important role in modern daily life.Currently，many commercial pedestrian streets are in face of predicaments such aschaotic spatial patterns，deficient landscape facilities，traffic jams，hybrid vehicles as wellas the loss of historical context. To solve these problems that how to make walkingcommercial district rejuvenate with the progress of the times in order to be a paradise ofpeople’s exchange，shopping，entertainment and recreation，from the view of overall urbandesign，this dissertation starts to focus on the analysis and research of urban pedestriancommercial street’s spatial form.To solve a series of problems we may face in the course of renovation and updating ofmodern pedestrian commercial streets，this article aims to explore design direction andmethod coordinated with its’ development. The article is divided into six chapters； the firstone mainly explains the background，purpose， significance，methods and content of theresearch as well as a relatively systematic elaboration of commercial pedestrian streets andurban design’s concepts and relationship. Chapter third， the focus of this article，launched a comprehensive and detailed study on urban commercial pedestrian street spacedesign，thus proposing a certain mode and strategies of remediation，hoping to consolidateand improve the design concept of the urban commercial district’s space remediation. Thefour one gives comprenhensive analysis of relative basic research situation，theories andexamples at home and abroad.Urban commercial pedestrian street space remediation is a dynamic process，in differenttimes and different levels of economic development，people’s requirements of thecommercial district are in continuous development of changes. Therefore， in order toconsolidate and improve the city’s pedestrian commercial district space remediationstrategy， we must proceed from reality， constantly suming up construction experienceand improving regulation theory.
