At present, lumbar disc herniation(LDH) has been one of the major persistentailment which influences people’s normal work, study and life, and the treatment ofthe disease is not ideal. The therapy that carrying-on-the-back which belongs totraditional Chinese medicine treatment method has been widely used because of itssimpleness and effectiveness. While the therapy has many shortcomings such as thelack of quantification of movement parameters, the inaccuracy of treated areas, theinsufficient of pulling force, the dependence of the medical experience and the highlabor intensity of doctors. Therefore, this paper develops a kind of therapeuticapparatus for LDH to realize control and automation, accuralize and standardizationof the treatment.This paper starts from the pathology of LDH, then analyses the treatmechanism and shortcomings of the therapy that carrying-on-the-back, thuspertinently puts forward the apparatus design requirements. According to the designrequirements, the paper puts forward reasonable mechanism design scheme, andworks out design task statement. Secondly, According to the design task statement,the paper designs parts of the apparatus, using matrix data operation programmingin MATLAB for parts’ strength calculation. Lastly, the paper uses ANSYS to makeharmonic response analysis and targeted static analysis. ANSYS optimization designtechnology is used for angle steel beam to make sure design requirement is met andeconomical efficiency is preserved.This paper puts forward and at last realizes the structure form which is rational,compact, reliable, easy to manufacture and control, to complete treatment movement.In the structural design process, a MATLAB programming checking method is putforward for strength calculation of parts with various stress conditions. Thepreliminary summary and collating in theory for the method are made. Beam189element is applied in finite element optimization design. Torsional strain which isthe most influential factor for stress is used as state variable. The stress value inoptimization result declines significantly.The therapeutic apparatus for LDH developed in this paper can simulate thetherapy that carrying-on-the-back well in treatment and optimize it further such asreducing the burden of medical and improving treatment effect.
