In the paper, we designed a distributed control system based on PROFIBUS(Process Field Bus) in order to solve the problems in the original power plant dataacquisition system, including low real-time communication rate, poor reliability ofcommunication networks, slow process of dual redundant host failover, data loss inthe process of the host failover. This system uses a high-speed PROFIBUS field busas the main communication network. The use of dual redundant PROFIBUSnetwork not only improves the communication speed of the system, but alsoenhances the reliability of the communication network. Dual redundant hot standbymaster station and efficient arbitration switch module design greatly improvedsystem performance and reliability.This paper first introduces the overall structure of the PROFIBUS-baseddistributed control system redundancy machine, and a detailed analysis offault-tolerant technology, communications technology and other key technologiesused in the system. And then gives a comprehensive analysis and comparison ofdual redundant master fault-tolerant program of work of PROFIBUScommunication theory and its advantages. Next, depth analysis of the design ofhardware and software modules of the dual-redundant PROFIBUS master stationarbitration switching technology, the heartbeat protocol design, dual redundantmaster station data consistency strategy, dual redundant bus design, and virtual dualport memory communication protocol design.Finally, this paper gives the timing of the arbitration module simulation, adetailed analysis of the various situations that may arise in the dual redundant hotstandby master stations. On the hardware of the communication board, arbitrationmodule hardware, dual-redundant PROFIBUS network communication testing,validate the system with high real-time performance and reliability. The system, onthe one hand has a higher communication speed than the original system andcommunication networks are more reliable, the other hand, the fast arbitration switching scheme greatly improve the usability of the system. Thus this system hasa very high research value and market value.
