| Resource-based city refers a city type based on natural resources such as mineralresources, forest resource, etc, and taking resource extraction and primary processing aspillar industry. There are118Resource-based cities in China, accounted for18%of thetotal. With the depletion of natural resources and the change of energy structure in theworld, a lot of Resource-based cities are facing a series of great economic, social andenvironmental problems. The Chinese government published a total of69Resource-based cities in three times (12in the first batch in2008,32in the secondbatch in2009, and25in the third batch in2011). The sustainable transformation ofResource-based cities in China was given enough attention. As an aspect of city transformation, space reconstruction could provide strongsupport to the long-term orderly development of a city. At the same time, because of theadvantage of urban design in improving space quality and integration of variousresources, it is possible to solve space reconstruction by means of urban design. Thispaper attempts to analysis and interpret the methods of the space reconstruction in thetransformation of resource-exhausted cities under the guide of urban design, andprovide some ideas and reference about space reconstruction for resource-exhaustedcities in China during the new period. This paper falls into six chapters. The first chapter mainly discusses the paper’s research background, researchpurpose and meaning, domestic and foreign research review, research ideas and basicmethods, and thesis framework. The second chapter is the supporting part of this paper. Firstly, carry on acomparative clear definition to thesis research scope, then analysis the spatial form, spatial morphological characteristics and major space problems of the resource-basedcities in China, in order to provide the basis for the research of the urban designmethods in the space reconstruction of the resource-based cities in China. The third chapter is the part of thesis. Firstly, discuss the meaning, content, characteristics, principles and objectives of. the space reconstruction of theresource-exhausted cities in China. Then starting from a comprehensive analysis to thediverse urban and rural resources in resource-exhausted cities, analysis different spacereconstruction paths of the resource-exhausted cities under different resource conditions The fourth chapter is the problem-solving part of the paper, and is the core part ofthe thesis. Firstly, interpret the advantages of the urban design in solving the problemsof the space reconstruction, then constructs the macro targets of space reconstruction inresource-exhausted cities, finally, according to the diverse space reconstruction paths inthe third chapter, interpret the methods and strategies of urban design in each path. The fifth chapter is the applied research part of the paper, taking the urban designin Yang Yi area, which is in Heshan District of Hebi City, Henan Province as anexample, starting from comprehensive analysis to the city of Hebi and the status of theland in this project, specifically elaborate the city design principles, strategies andmethods of the space reconstruction in resource-exhausted cities. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarize the main conclusions of thisdissertation and the remaining problems, and make a prospect to future research on thespace reconstruction in the transformation of resource-exhausted cities under the guideof urban design. |
