Most construction sites are located in remote mountainous areas, where transportation and electricity are not available. Workers usually use diesel generators to provide electricity when parts need to be welded. The diesel generator must be transported to the construction site, the whole process of power generation will increase consumption of non-renewable resources and aggravate energy shortage as well as environmental pollution crisis. However, solar energy resources are pure, pollution free, and inexhaustible. Generally speaking, exposed to direct sunlight, construction sites have sufficient solar energy resources. Combining the solar photovoltaic technology and welding together, a solar welding engineering vehicle can make full use of the sunshine resources of the construction site. Converting solar energy into electrical energy to provide energy to the welding, the vehicle can reduce the consumption fossil resources and has an excellent prospect for applications.Based on the understanding of the principals of solar panels and the principle of electric vehicles, we redesign the relevant parts of the two so that they can work interactively. According to electric car F16car and the actual needs of welding engineering, the article study out performance parameters of the solar welding engineering vehicle, such as vehicle power, maximum speed, driving range, maximum gradeability. These parameters are calculated for parameters of parts, besides driving motor power, power battery capacity and electricity. Based on dimensions and location of the original parts of F16, the related parts are re-selected and replaced.Magnesium alloys and aluminum alloys will be used to reduce the weight of the solar welding engineering vehicle. Based on the existing automobile site and parameters of parts calculated above, combining with the principals of solar panels, the paper redesigns the frame of vehicle and introduces the technology of Body Lighting Structure.Finally, according to the re-selected sections, the paper checks whether the vehicle quality in range. Modeled in SolidWorks and checked strength in Abaqus, the frame structure of the solar welding engineering vehicle will be optimized.
