| The main cause for gradually strengthening of global climate warming trend is theincreasing of carbon emissions year by year. As the largest carbon sinks on earth, ocean is animportant link in the cycle of global carbon, including Marine life has played a key role in thecycle of marine carbon. The carbonate ions in seawater and filter-feeding particulate organiccarbon were used to forming shells which the main component is calcium carbonate by theshells of marine organism, and the shells have played an important role in carbon sinks.Marine culture of shellfish is an important way of carbon sinks for marine fishery, which hadgreat significance to the study of marine biological carbon sink and carbon fixation. The20common cultivated shellfish were selected in this article, X-ray fluorescence spectrometerwas used for the quantitative analysis of carbon content. Based on the results of determination, the method of statistical analysis was used to calculate fixed carbon content and carbonsequestration capacity of the main cultivated shellfish in the coastal and coastal provinces inour country, simultaneously, the method of time series and contrast analysis were adopted todiscuss the carbon sink capacity and change trend between different sea and shellfish alongthe coast of China in2001-2010, the following conclusions:(1) The shells carbon content of20species of shellfish were so little difference, thelowest type of carbon percentage is rassostrea gigas, was11.88%, the highest kind wasBatiuaria cumingi,12.61%; Overall, the carbon percentage of shell of snails is higher thanthat of bivalve mollusc.(2) In terms of organism, the carbon sink capacity of Batillaria zonalis was the strongestduring the20species of shellfish,8.87%, and the weakest kind is Sinonovacula constricta,2.71%; as a whole, the same show that the ability of carbon sinks of shell of snails werehigher than bivalve mollusc.(3) According to the calculated results of carbon sequestration capacity of shellfish, thecapacity of carbon sinks of rassostrea gigas was the strongest and the value was up to1.97t/hm2; the lowest was breeding Abalone kind and the value was0.17t/hm2. The effect ofcarbon sinks was also different among the same shellfish in different waters, the highestcapacity of carbon sinks was the rassostrea gigas of2.62t/hm2in Shandong. The Chlamysfarreri and Mytilus galloprovincialis were the highest of1.27t/hm2and1.23t/hm2, that all inFujian province. The clams were the highest in each area of Guangxi.(4)2001-2001, about5272005.79tons of carbon in the form of a shell of marine cultureof shellfish were removed from the sea water. The provinces of the two biggest contributionswere Shandong and Fujian respectively across the coastal provinces. (5)2001-2001, total carbon of marine culture of shellfish was rising year by year in ourcountry. The capacity of carbon sinks was showing a downward trend year by year in thewaters of aquaculture, a very big differences were existing in the change of the coastalprovinces, there had fluctuated upward trend in Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, andpresented downward trend in Shandong and Liaoning. |
