| Along with socioeconomic development,global climate,and environmental issues have become increasingly prominent and a challenge for human society.Greenhouse gases,especially carbon dioxide,are often considered to be the main contributors to climate problems.Since the first industrial revolution in the 1860 s,human production and lifestyle have undergone tremendous changes,with fossil fuel consumption and changes in land use patterns generating large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.Tourism,as one of the strategic pillars of national economic development,has also undergone important changes.Ecotourism and low-carbon tourism are developing rapidly in China and have taken an important place in many forms of tourism,especially as many tourist destinations are rich in carbon sinks and can generate huge additional ecosystem service values in addition to neutralizing the carbon emissions generated from tourism,so it is important to study the issue of sustainable tourism development from a carbon sink/source perspective and explore the ecological value into.Taking the Yellow River Estuary Ecotourism Area as an example,this paper draws on existing theories and methods related to carbon emissions/absorption to determine the list and measurement methods of carbon emissions generated by different tourism sectors,based on the development of various sectors of tourism in the scenic area;based on the data obtained from official statistical yearbooks,field questionnaires,and interviews,the carbon emissions of the Yellow River Estuary Ecotourism Area are estimated,and the results are analyzed in depth.The results show that the highest carbon emissions are generated by the tourism transportation sector,followed by tourism activities.The results show that the regional carbon sink capacity is outstanding,with wetland ecosystems playing a significant role.Finally,based on the gradual construction of China’s carbon trading market,an attempt was made to assess the value of carbon sinks in the Huanghekou Ecotourism Area.A carbon trading price pricing model was constructed by introducing option pricing,and the model parameters were determined based on market trading data to calculate the unit price of carbon sink trading,which eventually led to the total value of regional carbon trading,and the analysis concluded that the value of regional carbon sinks is huge.On this basis,corresponding suggestions are made for the realization of the value of carbon market trading,with a view to transforming ecological benefits into economic benefits and monetizing the value of carbon sinks through gradual participation in the carbon market trading process in the future,thereby promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the Yellow River Estuary Ecotourism Area and providing a reference for other regions and even scenic spots across the country to follow a sustainable development path. |
