| Human beings and animals are the creatures of nature, independently but closely linkedto each other on this planet. Since ancient times, humans conquest and transform the naturearbitrarily for their own development. Humans treat animals as their tools, resulting in aseries of environmental problems, destroying the balance of the ecosystem. Rapid economicdevelopment and rising living standards are gradually changing people’s lifestyles and values.Keeping pets has become a very common social phenomenon. Pets are most closelyconnected with humans, are the connection between humans and nature. People areincreasingly aware of the unique value of pets and the differences between pets and otherthings. Although China has a long history of keeping pets, but so far, we still don’t have acomplete legislation specifically for the pets’ protection. The increasing number of petsbrought a lot of social issues and litigation disputes. Given pets Legal protection has becomea trend in the world of legislation.This paper first explains the concept of animal in natural science and legal science andthe legal classification, and elaborates the significance of the protection of pet animals. Thenthe paper discusses the civil legal status of animals and presses my personal opinion. Next thepaper introduces our country and the world’s major countries and regions’ legal and practicalprotection of pet animals. Finally, the paper proposes the ideas of pet animal’s legalprotection in China. |
