The Ecological And Environmental Protection Issues In Urban Fringe During The Process Of Urbanization In China

“The major issues of the CPC Central Committee decision on promoting ruralreform and development adopted by the Third Plenary Session” makes it clear that theparty is to crack the urban-rural dual economic and social structure, to achieve theintegration of urban and rural economic and social development in the coming period.The Urbanization is an important way to crack the urban-rural dual economic and socialstructures, and to integrate the urban and rural economic and social development.The urban fringe is a product of urbanization, of the forefront of the urbanizationand the transition zone of the expansion from the urban to the rural areas. Thedevelopment of the urban fringe is due to both absorbing diffusion effects of urbaneconomic and social development and the self evolution of the economic and socialstructures. The characteristic of urban fringe brings both opportunities and challenges.The current rapid development of the urban fringe areas as well as the growinglyecological and environmental problems is the external reflection of these characteristics.Based on the analysis of the urban fringe areas, this paper studies the causes ofecological environment problems and proposes feasible recommendation from the aspectof government, business, civic, and social organizations.
