The Research On The International Competitiveness Of Marine Industry In China

As a multi-disciplinary comprehensive industry, marine industry has the characteristicsof extraversion, modernity, fast growth, high efficiency, wide coverage, large industrialconnection and strong leading, with high content of science and technology, great economicvalue and social value. Marine industry has strong impetus to social and economicdevelopment. Under the condition of global economic crisis，turning to the sea，to strengthenthe sustainable development and utilization of marine resources, vigorously develop the oceanand its related industries, will bring new sources of growth for the global economicdevelopment.Although China is a maritime power, but also not belong to the sea power. Existing inthe process of marine industry development, infrastructure facilities is not sound, marineresources development and utilization degree is low, marine industrial structure and layout isnot reasonable, marine science and technology level and the contribution rate are low. Inorder to put forward effective countermeasures and suggestions, we must understand thecomprehensive competitiveness of China’s marine industry and its international status. Basedon the qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper analyzed the internationalcompetitiveness of marine industrial in our country.First of all, this paper analyzed the status quo of marine industry development in ourcountry and some ocean power, and pointed out that the world marine industry developmenttrend and problems during the development process of our country’s marine industry.Secondly, the main factors influencing the marine industry international competitivenessare discussed; the index system of marine industry international competitiveness evaluation isconstructed. This system contained five category factors, including national macroeconomicenvironment, the level of marine science and technology, marine industrial economy level,business environment and marine economy sustainable development level. This system alsocontained23small class factors, such as marine industry national GDP proportion of GDP,marine science and technology contribution rate to the marine economy.Thirdly, this paper used the factor analysis method to analyze selected countries’performance in five category factors respectively. According to all kinds of evaluation results, Carried on the comprehensive evaluation of national marine industry internationalcompetitiveness.At last, based on the international comparison and the result of factor analysis, drawinglessons from foreign marine industry law of development, put forward countermeasures andsuggestions to enhance our country’s marine industry’s international competitiveness.
