Yantan reservoir is located in Dahua County of Guangxi Autonomous Region on the main stream of the Red River, is a1992Red River formation of Yantan hydropower station sluice built big waters. Water type and farming practices of reservoir are diverse. Water quality is closely related to the sustainable utilization of aquatic organisms and water resources. For a comprehensive understanding of yantan reservoir water quality status of different kinds of waters, This study collected water samples on a regular basis from October2010to October2010, determined and analyzed the four types of waters of phytoplankton and zooplankton standing crop and dynamic change rule, to evaluate water quality of different types waters from the perspective of plankton. The main results were as follows:1. There are74genera of phytoplankton, which belonged to8phyla. The number of species of Chlorophyta(30genera,40.54%) ranked the first, followed by Bacillariophyta (17genera,22.97%) and Cyanophyta(14genera,18.92%). Different types of water is given priority to Chlorophyta, the number of Jiang Dong (21genera) is maximum, and Han Da (14genera) is least. Dominant species of phytoplankton have some consistency in the same season, and the same waters of phytoplankton in different seasons have different dominant species.2.31genera of zooplankton were identified, and four types of waters is given priority to protozoa, the number of Jiang Dong (11genera) is maximum, and Han Da (8genera) is least. The same season farming similar types of zooplankton in the waters of the dominant species in the same, the same waters of zooplankton in different seasons have different dominant species.3. The density and biomass trend of phytoplankton in monitoring areas:the density and biomass have some synchronization:both of which are gradually increased as the water temperature increased, but with the drop as the water temperature decreased. The anniversary dynamic changes of phytoplankton density and biomass as follow:the phytoplankton density and biomass were2.41×104ind./L and0.06mg/L respectively in the lowest temperature of the season, and in the highest temperature of the season, phytoplankton density and biomass respectively up to17.14×104ind./L and0.40mg/L, the latter density and biomass were increased85.94%and85.00%than the former. In the same season, the phytoplankton biomass and density are varied in different types of waters, the intensive farming waters of Jiang Dong is the highest and up to21.89×104ind./L and0.66mg/L respectively, Shang Yintun and Han Da is the lowest for1.93×104ind./L and0.05mg/L4. The density and biomass trend of zooplankton in monitoring areas:the density and biomass have some synchronization:both of which are gradually increased as the water temperature increased, but with the drop as the water temperature decreased. The anniversary dynamic changes of zooplankton density and biomass as follow:the zooplankton density and biomass were372.50ind./L and0.80mg/L respectively in the lowest temperature of the season, and in the highest temperature of the season, zooplankton density and biomass respectively up to2172.50ind./L and2.40mg/L, the latter density and biomass were increased82.85%and66.67%than the former. In the same season, the zooplankton biomass and density are varied in different types of waters, the intensive farming waters of Jiang Dong is the highest and up to3120.00ind./L and3.55mg/L respectively, Han Da is the lowest for170ind./L and0.45mg/L.5. According to the phytoplankton and zooplankton community diversity index (H) evaluate water quality of monitoring water was moderate pollution-heavy pollution. Jiang Dong water qualityis the worst (β-α-moderate pollution-heavy pollution), water quality of HanDa is better (β-α-moderate pollution).6. According to the phytoplankton and zooplankton community evenness index (J) evaluate water quality of monitoring water was Light pollution-β-α-moderate pollution-heavy pollution. Jiang Dong water qualityis the worst (β-α-moderate pollution-heavy pollution), water quality of HanDa is better (Light pollution-P-moderate pollution).7. According to the phytoplankton and zooplankton community richness index (d) evaluate water quality of monitoring water was Light pollution-β-α-moderate pollution. Jiang Dong water qualityis the worst (β-α-moderate pollution), water quality of HanDa is better (Light pollution-β-moderate pollution).8. Using several kinds of "index" for different water quality comprehensive evaluation, and Combined with the distribution of phytoplankton and zooplankton dominant species analysis concluded that different types of water quality situation is different, Jiang Dong and barone island waters has been moderate eutrophication, HanDa and Shang Yintun water was mild to moderate eutrophication transition.
