Developing Mineral Resources Planning GIS Data Base And Management System

Along with the establishment of the ministry of land and resources, mineral resources become the vital step in government regulation, The planning of mineral resources is related to not only the ministry of land and resources but also rerelevant departments Such as the environmental protection department and big mining group. In previous mineral resources planning, people are so obsessed with economic development and neglected mine eco-environment. The phenomenon of resources exploitation always happened. In response to the social development needs, our country enacted a new round of national mineral resources planning to improve the ability of the sustainable development of mineral resources security in2008. The database construction of Shanxi Province mineral resource programming is one part of the national mineral resources planning.This article is based on the second round database construction of Shanxi Province mineral resources planning which is undertaken by the third geological engineering investigation institute of Shanxi Province. It is relying on the database planning. Firstly it elaborated the domestic and foreign development situation of mineral resources planning, established the geographical spatial data model for the construction of the database. Then the article described geospatial database design scheme and design principle, set up two kinds of geospatial data. It implemented the uniformity operation of the graphical object element and the corresponding attribute data. According to the mineral resources planning database standards we created the database. Because of current GIS gradually perfecting, component GIS provided a new practical and independent development tool for developing for mineral resources planning management. Shanxi Province mineral resources planning database is established based on the GIS technology. Mineral resources planning management system is developed with programming language Visual Basic and GIS component MapObjects. It provided intuitive information platform for mineral resources planning, the new round of mineral resources planning management is also based on the system.From the perspective of the basic function of management system, The system has the following features:The editing, storage, analysis, query, output for mineral resources planning data; the graphic attributes data input and update; to browse the map (enlarge, shrink, roam the map layer); geometric measurement for the map (distance, area coverage), spatial query and spatial analysis of spatial information; auxiliary functions including loading remote sensing image, coordinates, graphical selection on the map range. Mineral resources planning is an engineering system which combines comprehensive discipline characteristic. Database construction is a covered space among the data model, interface problem and the study of the database engine. Management system design needs to implement spatial data management, regional spatial analysis and data updating as functional modules. The system can give full play to the characteristics of regional and abstractness, multi-level and polymorphism.
