The World Heritage Tourism Destination Residents Perception Research

With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s aesthetic interest, the worldheritage gets the opportunities of heritage protection and tourism development for its high qualityrare tourism resources. But at the same time many damages appear because of destruction or evenprotection, and also led to problems and contradictions between tourism development andresidents.World heritage are important material carriers of history and culture,which reflect theeconomic and cultural level of that period,and have important scientific and ornamental value. Thedevelopment of heritage sites often has close relationship with the local. In order to promote thehealthy development of tourism, not only need to study on tourists’ satisfaction, but also shouldattach great importance to the perception and attitude of local residents.Because the local residentsare familiar with the heireitage and its culture, and at the same time residents are the people who areaffcted most profoundly and directly. Their attitudes and behaviors affect the local tourismdevelopment largely.What’s more, the residents themselves are the important part of local culturesystem. The survey of these problems can prove their attitudes and behavior and help thedepartment of tourism development to find the problems existing in the current tourism developmentprocess.All of these can be important opinions to develop heritage tourism.From the perspective of the residents of heritage sites, this thesis, refers to overseas and domesticresearch status and combines the local actual situation.On that basis, the thesis mesures the variousinfluences and changes, such as heritage conservation situation and situation of residents’participation, which are brought by the development of heritage tourism. These are sighnificant forsustainable development, the improvement of the local and harmony of heritage sites and land.Meanwhile selecting factors are analyzed which affects tourism residents perception and attitudes.Atlast, the thesis combines with domestic and foreign research results to summarize and ascend thesefactors. Finally in view of the problems arising from the questionnaires and interviews, andcombining with the influencing factors of residents’ perception and attitude, suggestions for theimprovement of the residents’ perceptibility are put forward. These suggestions can be used toimprove residents’ satisfaction on one hand, on the other hand also can promote the healthydevelopment of the tourism destination.This thesis does the elaboration and analysis from the following aspects. The first part is theintroduction.This part introduces the background and research significance of this thesis research,and has a simple review about research status of heritage and the residents’ perception and attitude.At last of this part, the research thought and framework of this thesis are introduced.In the second part, some basic concepts and theoretical basis is defined,which are used in this thesis.The third partexpounds the theoretical mechanisms.It includes the relationship between residents’ perceptionattitude and the development of the heritage sites, the measurement factor of residents perceptionattitude,and the influence factors of cognitive attitude.The fourth part,the thesis takes the city ofTai’an as an example for empirical research. And the data which are obtained by questionnaire andthe interview are anlaysed by the method of factor analysis and desccriptive analysis.At the last ofthis part summarizes its main conclusion.The fifth part analyses the factors influenting the heritagesites residents’ perception and attitudes, and all these factors are divided into subjective factors andobjective factors, which are devided by the standard of whether residents out of their point of view.Test on the subjective factors using the method of T test and K-W test, and the analysis of thesubjective factors is on the theory of the stakeholder theory and game theory. Finally, through theanalysis of the results, some suggestions are proposed to develop heritage site tourism and improveresidents’ perception.And these suggestions can increase the degree of residents’ perception, andrealize the sustainable development of heritage sites, and realize harmonious development betweenhuman and nature.
