Along with the accelerating process of economic globalization, thecompetition between enterprises is increasingly growing.In order toquickly adjust the strategy and organization structure, and improve theability to adapt to the environment, companies have adopted the way ofteam work. But in gender, age, education level, length of service,professional knowledge and values, the team members show thediversification problem and the diversification problem largely affectsteam performance,which has caused the wide attention of enterprisemanagers and related scholars. Related studies have shown that thediversity of team members will make a profound impact on the team, butthe impact is positive or negative, and how much have not had a clearconclusion.In order to furtherly clarify the team diversity’s effects on teamperformance, this paper chooses the enterprise research and developmentteam as investigation object,investigates30r&d teams’s diversity andteam performance level through150valid questionnaires, and meanwhi-le estimates the influence of the different team size on the relationshipbetween diversity and group performance by introducing the team size asthe adjustment variable. The research results show:(1)the higher thedegree of education diversification of the research and development teamis, the higher the team performance is;(2) the higher the degree of specialized knowledge diversity of the research and development team is,the higher the team performance is;(3) the higher the degree of valuesdiversity of the research and development team is, the lower the teamperformance is;(4) compared with the smaller teams, the larger teamsmake more significant influence on team performance.According to the results of this study, this paper puts forward thecorresponding strategies to improve the research and development teamperformance of the enterprise, and provides the certain reference for theenterprise managers both in theory and in practice.This paper is dividedinto six chapters:the first chapter is the introduction;the second chapter isa summary of related study;the third chapter is the model constructionand hypothesis statements; the fourth chapter is the empirical study; thefifth chapter is the corporate research and development team performanceimprovement strategies based on the team diversity; the sixth chapter isthe conclusion, insufficient research and prospects. This paper argues thatWhen building a research and development team, the enterprises need tofocus on the research and development members’ distribution characteris-tics in such aspects as education level, professional knowledge andvalues,and adjust the team size to an appropriate size according to thenature of the research and development team’s tasks to improve the team’soverall performance.
