Taking heterogeneous team as the research object, this thesis is intended to explore the relationship between the heterogeneity of team members, task reflexivity, group efficacy, and team performance. It will go further to analyze the mediator effect of task reflexivity and group efficacy on the team heterogeneity and team performance. Besides, how the interaction between task reflexivity and group efficacy affects the team performance will also be investigated.The research is conducted in three steps. The first step is literature review, summarizing the previous studies, research deficiency, and the trend for future research on the basis of abundant literature and documents. The second step is exploratory case study. Based on the exploratory study of Haier Group, this research will form a preparatory conception of the possible variables and their relations in the performance influence mechanism of heterogeneous team, and then put forth the research hypothesis and research model for this paper. The last step is to conduct empirical study on large samples and testify quantitatively the theoretical conception of this research supported by the statistical software of AMOS5.0 and SPSS 13.0. The research hypothesis is basically verified by the research results achieved, and conclusions as follow can be reached:1. The characteristics of the team members which can affect the performance of a heterogeneous team centers on their special skills and work values.2. Against the backdrop of a dramatically changing external situation, the constitutive dimensions of heterogeneous team performance witness new divisions of task performance (including task accomplished and team efficiency) and team innovation.3. Among the characteristics of a heterogeneous team, special skills and work values have positive effect on the team performance.4. Among the characteristics of a heterogeneous team, special skills and works values have positive effect on the team task reflexivity and group efficacy. 5. Team task reflexivity and group efficacy manifest obvious positive effect, with the latter having greater effect on team performance.6. Team task reflexivity and group efficacy have mediator effect in heterogeneous team and its performance, namely the heterogeneous team makes use of the mediator effect of task reflexivity and group efficacy to impose positive effect on the task performance and innovation of the team as a whole.7. The interactive effect between team task reflexivity and group efficacy can positively push forward the innovation of the team.In the end, this thesis gives a full discussion on the research outcome, points out the research value and insufficiency, and predicts the research direction in the future.
