A Research On The Path To Low-carbon Economic Development Of ZhaoQing In GuangDong Province

As the high frequency of extreme weather, the low-carbon economy is paid attention by the international community increasingly. The greater Pearl River Delta metropolitan area has been the third biggest metropolitan area in the world, so it is significant to build low-carbon economy cities. As a late-development region in the Pearl River Delta metropolitan area, ZhaoQing should speed up its integration into the core area of Pearl River Delta and Guangzhou-FoShan economic zone. ZhaoQin should let the advantages of resource and environment give full play to its development, making clear industry orientation, developing low-carbon industries, in order to convert the economic growth pattern, give impetus to industrial transformation and upgrading, instead of following the former economic development pattern which is taking treatment after pollution, choosing low-end before high-end, being extensive before intensive.The thesis firstly states the background and significance of developing low-carbon economy for ZhaoQing, and introduces the development status of low-carbon economy at home and abroad. It proposes the necessity of developing low-carbon economy for ZhaoQing, on the basis of analyzing ZhaoQing’s natural geographic conditions, economic and social development, eco-environment status, and current issues. Moreover, the thesis probes the developing way of low-carbon economy for ZhaoQing, by researching from the aspects of readjusting the industrial structure, optimizing the energy structure, promoting the low-carbon tourism, developing the circular economy, enhancing the carbon sequestration function, etc. Furthermore, the thesis explores the thoughts of ZhaoQing’s economic development from the perspective of low-carbon development, proposing the implementation procedures of planning the low-carbon development, launching the low-carbon economy pilot projects, constructing the guarantee system, etc.The thesis finally summarizes the viewpoints and proposes the prospects for further work.
