With thedevelopment of human society and economy, more andmore countries are producing the luxuries, and more andmore people are consuming the luxuries. The luxuries todayhave walked in the road of industrialization production. Thediversities of production categories, style and advantage indifferent regions make the world luxury trade develop rapidly. In the year of2011, the market size of globalluxuries has exceeded200billion dollars. Under the neweconomic environment, the traditional luxury consumermarket has entered into a stable and mature period, and theluxury consumption amount is in a relatively stable trend. However, the emerging economies in behalf of China areconsuming luxuries more and more exuberantly. In2011,China’s luxury consumption has hit12.6billion dollars, thatmakes China to be the world’s second largest luxuryconsumer market. At the same time, the luxuryconsumption amount of South Korea,Russia,Brazil,MiddleEast and other countries and regions is increasing quickly. The world luxury trade pattern is undergoing new changes.Although the luxuries have experienced hundreds of years’ development, the definition and concepts of luxurystill have no unified conclusion, because of theparticularity and extensiveness. The public also hasdifferent understanding of luxury. The main point is thatthere are conflicts between the luxuries on behalf ofhigh-end consumption and noble enjoyment flavor and thevalue of emphasizing frugality in our traditional culture. Sosome people oppose luxury consumption and its industrialdevelopment because of luxury consumption against theconception of common prosperity and economical society. In addition, the Chinese luxury trade is in the long-termdeficit,that is not consistent with the position of our secondglobal luxury consumer market. Moreover, the domesticresearch on luxury trade is less and less, that is lagging market development severely. For that reason, based on theprevious research and considering the time effectiveness, this paper tries to give a new definition of luxury. Then, thispaper analyzes geographical distribution, regiondifferences and pattern status of luxuries production andconsumption by using the comparative method, classification, analysis and synthesis methods and othermethodologies, especially focusing on the impact ofgeographical factors, and then proposes a"core-periphery-edge" structure to luxuries production andconsumption areas. Tracing the geographic pattern’schange of luxury production and consumption, meanwhilestudying the development history and trend of world luxurytrade, this paper finds that strong consumer demand and developed social productivity is the dynamic mechanism ofworld luxury trade center’s transferring, which make theworld luxury trade center move to the area with moreflourish economic environment and stable politicalenvironment. Finally, based on the studies above, andcombining with China’s reality, this paper puts forwardrelated countermeasure on China’s luxury trade andindustrial development: one is to change the idea, understanding the positive effects of luxuries and thedevelopment correctly; two is to use policy method, standardizing import market and stimulating domesticconsumption;three is to encourage Chinese businessmento purchase shares or invest in some famous internationalluxury brand, using cultural characteristics to create domestic luxury brand of our local cultural characteristic, and carrying out "going out" strategy;four is to pay moreattention to cultivate and strengthen professional talents. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | World Luxury, Pattern of consumption and production, Trade geography transferring, China’s countermeasure | | Related items |
