Production capacity is a technical parameters which reflect the enterprise’s processing capacity; it is also an important indicator to measure the competitiveness of manufacture enterprises; it is an important function of the operating costs. It can affect other production operating costs. Absolutely it can be regarded as the initial cost of the production. So production capacity can be described as significant of costs capacity planning.The capacity planning of discrete manufacturing is divided into long-term planning, medium-term planning and short-term planning. Long-term capacity planning belongs to corporate strategy level plan. It impact on the company’s strategic decision-making, production capacity and cost structure directly. Meanwhile, because of its long-term planning cycle, large-scale investment, long-term capacity planning has a lot of risk. Long-term production capacity planning includes a wide range of design, such as equipment selection (resource type), the number of equipment purchase (resource)plan, plant and facility layout, logistics system planning. Because one of the discrete manufacturing process’s characteristics is can be determined generally in advance(especially the renovation and expansion of the case), the selection of equipment is no longer a complex issue; it planning all basis on the equipment purchase plans and process feature for plant layout and logistics system planning. Therefore, under the premise of the accurate of demand forecast, long-term capacity planning design work is the optimization of the number of equipment purchase.The article is for discrete manufacturing, in the case of known future capacity needs and the determined of equipment selection, to build capacity planning model from two aspects of optimize the number of purchase of equipment with the overall acquisition cost minimization and equipment to maximize. The first study is a key technical problem to solve production capacity planning model to propose the reverse scheduling algorithm based product BOM and process. The result of the calculation reflected the assembly and assembly relationships and quantitative relationship among the parts of the products. Research on algorithm design with high optimization performance scheduling algorithm optimization program for the purchase of equipment, improve equipment utilization an effective tool; then the single device type number adjustment method based on cost minimization and design multi-device type combination adjusted greedy algorithm, equipment adjustment methods and scheduling algorithm iteration, until a stable result, the result is the final equipment purchase program.This article will be difficult to resolve the purchase of equipment to optimize the number of NP problem into a mature solution scheduling problem, with the help of easy to implement and there is enough to optimize the performance of the greedy algorithm, and ultimately the number of discrete manufacturing equipment purchase optimization. Determine the optimal number of purchase of equipment, allowing companies to achieve long-term production plans of enterprises under the provisions of the production calendar and service plan with minimum investment and the fastest rhythm. So as to lay the foundation for capacity planning other aspects of the design, such as plant and facilities layout, logistics system planning.
