Research On Economic Contacts Between Central And Peirpheral Cities In The Middle Area Of Jilin Province

Jilin central city group is in the best areas of natural and geographical conditionsof Jilin Province, with the inherent advantages of development. Terrain, water andother infrastructure is better; in the area of transport, there are railway and highwayconnections from the central city to the peripheral city. From the spatial point of view,the structure has formed a large "X" type. Changchun City as the central city of thiscity group, its status is higher than other cities, the role of the transportation hub playsobviously, but its aggregation ability and radiation ability to other cities is still veryinadequate. Overall, this city group has just begun.Firstly, the study tests the economic contacts of Changchun City, Jilin City,Siping City, Songyuan City and Liaoyuan City using the amount of economic contact,economic membership and Euclidean distance model that based on the gravity model.Then calculate the daily commute of Changchun City and the four cities. Lastly，testthe correlation analysis through three major economic indicators. The specificconclusions are as follows:First, the economic contacts are quite different between various cities andChangchun City. the economic contact is the most closely between Jilin City andChangchun City in four cities, the secondly is Siping City, No matter what. SongyuanCity or Liaoyuan City the economic contact is the same degree. Second, the economiccontacts are low level. Regardless of the amount of economic contact, economicmembership, Euclidean distance or correlation results are confirmed the economiccontacts are not close between peripheral cities and central city in the central citygroups of Jilin Province. Third, the aggregation ability and radiate ability ofChangchun City are the inadequate. As the central city, Changchun City did not playthe aggregation ability and the ability of radiation to smaller peripheral cities, and hasalso led to a small degree of contact. Fourth, the development degree of the central city groups in Jilin Province is low. This urban agglomeration has just begun to rise,urban hierarchy unreasonable, so the degree of economic contacts are low.According to the conclusions drawn by the earlier, the article proposes policyrecommendations: First, to strengthen economic cooperation between the peripheralcities and the central city. This cities should proactively reach out to strengtheneconomic and other areas of cooperation. Second, speed up the development ofperipheral cities, narrowing the gap with the central city, each the peripheral cityshould strengthen its own pace of development, the provincial government shouldalso actively promote the development of these cities, maintain coordination toChangchun City. Third, we should to foster a number of small and medium-sizedcities, and improve the urban hierarchy.
