The Study On The Energy Competitiveness Of Shanxi

Energy is the foundation of the modern human civilization and is the driving force of society. In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s industrialization and urbanization, the demand of the energy consumption is growing. The contradiction between supply and demand of energy becomes social economic development bottlenecks, which has caused social concern highly. There is the existence dependence between the economic growth and energy consumption growth. It has been the key research direction that how to secure energy supplies how to promote sustainable development and how to transform the pattern of economic growth.The article researched the energy competitiveness、energy structure and development status of our country by the evaluation index、factor analysis and cluster analysis of multivariate statistical method. Basing on these, the energy competitiveness of Shanxi province is made a detailed analysis in the paper in order to put forward some corresponding suggestions for the energy industry. Specifically, first of all, the paper get the integrated rank of30provinces on the basis of the index system of competitiveness evaluation theory; Secondly, the aiticle get ranks by factor analysis method, the paper gets the result of comprehensive rank during10years (2001-2010) from nine indexes of the energy investment, energy production and energy consumption:absolute amount, per capita and the pace of development in2000as the base period. And the aiticle analysed the two kinds of ranks. Finally, the article analyzed the competition of regional energy in China deeply by cluster analysis to the ten years of energy production and energy consumption. Basing on which, the paper had a detailed analysis to the energy competitiveness of Shanxi province.The results show that:Firstly, the energy supply less than demand in our country on the national energy structure, One third energy demand of our nation rely on import for a long time. Secondly, the distribution of our energy is uneven, so there is a wide range of long-distance energy scheduling. Lastly, neither the energy production structure nor energy consumption structure is over-reliance on coal. For the Shanxi province:on the one hand, which is a traditional energy province. Its energy competitiveness has begun to decline and at the same time the energy production began to reduce. On the other hand, the products of energy are too single, which restricted the continuance and further improvement of its energy competitivenness. The last, in view of these situations, the paper puts forward some policy suggestions for energy province of Shanxi Province.
