In recent years, our social and economic development level is increasing rapidly, industrialization and modernization is progressing rapidly, a considerable amount of time for leisure is produced by the same time of creating great wealth. Work with the pace of life more and more quickly, more and more people through the leisure consumption to ease working life brings the mental stress. In the culture of Chinese and western countries leisure ideas are both have a long history, the scholars at home or abroad has a different comprehending for the meaning of leisure. China, however, is on a distinctive the socialist road, the unique cultural tradition and history process for leisure consumption in the research of the theory and can’t completely copied western leisure learning achievements, set up with Chinese characteristics leisure theory system to promote social progress, improving national life and life quality to have the important meaning.In this paper a consumer society and leisure the relation between the two theory on the basis of analysis, comparative study history, culture for leisure consumption ideas. For leisure travel has free time as a required element of the leisure consumption in China of the present situation of the research samples, and were collected from1995-2010in the United States and Chinese citizens to the domestic and foreign leisure tourism consumption data, than the similarities and differences between the present leisure consumption industries, out our leisure consumption problems, and on how to improve our country leisure consumption industry development put forward relevant countermeasures and measures.This paper mainly introduces the first part of the consumer society and the basic theory of leisure consumption, from the characteristics of a consumer society, to investigate the Angle of leisure consumption, leisure consumption of the specific form and alienation of leisure and recreation value theory of Marx’s five aspects of leisure and consumption in the inner link. The second part to contemporary consumption social context as the major premise, respectively, in-depth analysis of Chinese and western leisure, development, and their respective nature of the consumption idea. The third part is the core part of this paper, the tourism leisure consumption as the inspection points, to2000-2010the consumers their inside and outside leisure tourism consumption data for evidence, analysis and describes the leisure value orientation of similarities and differences. According to the front of the research, this paper expounds the fourth part in China’s leisure consumption of the existing value loss, comparisons show off and passive consumption three problems, and provide effective countermeasures and measures for our country in leisure consumption development.
