Exhibition industry in our country is one of the most development potential of the ten major industries in the future ten years, known as the "sunrise industry in twenty-first Century".The exhibition industry absorbed the international attention, created enormous social and economic value, but in our country, the exhibition industry developed less than20years, regardless of the theoretical system and practice experience are a large gap with the developed countries.However, with the development of the times, demand is increasing in a large numbers, the exhibition economy becomes the first carriage to pull the growth of local economy,and becomes more and more important in the government and relevant aspects in the exhibition industry chain.This paper introduces the government leading exhibition.Government leading exhibition has its distinct characteristics in many points,such as the assumed target, the role playing, the investment of capital,the form of the organization and the method of management, evaluation and other aspects.According to its characteristics we should adopt some management methods so as to appear the important value in stimulating economic growth and in the Publicity of city image.But the traditional exhibition management methods stay on to the experience management stage, lack of scientific management support system,this paper aims to introduce the theory of project management,in order to promote the management quality, and improve the management efficiencyAt present, the project management has been widely used in engineering projects, research projects, commercial projects and other fields.Giving full play to the project management theory in the start, plan, execution, monitor stage, formed a set of scientific exhibition management system is very important.This paper aims to study the application of project management knowledge to take the various systems, methods and personnel together,and complete the work of the project with the new method in terms of time,budget and quality target.Taking the project management system of PMBOK as the main clue,in the view of the scope management,time management,cost management,quality management, human resource management,communication management, procurement management, risk management and integrated management to introduce the relevant theoretical system.This paper will introduce the mainly work of planning stage, implementation and monitoring stage, ending phase respectively,combining urban and rural planning and construction exhibition of some place.In the last part,we will put forward evaluating standard and improvement scheme in base on discussing the management theory and the application on governmental dominant exhibition project in present situation,and look forward to the future of development prospects of the exhibition project.
