The core competitiveness of commercial banks is the main objective of the strategic planning and management to a certain extent. By the end of2011, the total assets of the four state-owned commercial banks accounted for50%of total banking assets in China. Anglicizing and evaluating the core competitiveness of state-owned commercial banks has an important theoretical and practical significance.As a service industry, the core competitiveness of state-owned commercial bank is evaluated from the financial business innovation perspective. This thesis studies a model based on the financial business innovation in order to analysis and evaluate it from the qualitative and quantitative point, then concluded that the financial business innovation had the great effect on the state-owned bank core competitiveness.Based on the literature review, this thesis reviews related theory of state-owned commercial banks’financial business innovation and theory of core competitiveness, such as Financial Innovation Theory and Modern Portfolio Theory.Combined with development process and present status of the theory of the state-owned commercial banks financial business innovation, the paper researched the relationship of the state-owned commercial banks core competitiveness and the financial business innovation, constructed the evaluation system of the state-owned banks core competitiveness. Then this thesis evaluates the core competitiveness of state-owned commercial banks. In conclusion, financial business innovation had the great effect on the state-owned banks core competitiveness.In the end, the author offered policy recommendations with regard to the development of financial business and the promotion of the state-owned bank core competitiveness:improving financial products propaganda, perfecting the client information and constructing the network.
