Since first proposed the "BRIC",until now has more than11years. In the past11years, Brazil, Russia, India and China, these four countries had been make a hugecontribution to the world economy. In April2011, South Africa formally to join theBRIC renamed as the "BRIC countries", and its influence has been continuousexpansion. BRIC is the fastest growing in recent years, is also the most developmentpotential of the economy, so when the five countries to the overall look, not only theBRIC countries economic and trade development will has a tremendous effect, but alsothe entire the world economy will have a positive impact. the commodity structure ofthe China and other BRIC countries have a highly complementary, such as fossil fuels.If the BRIC countries can be mutually reinforcing trade contact, it will have a hugeimpact on each other’s trade development. However, the BRIC countries want to furtherexpand trade relations also faced with many difficulties, and research about the BRICcountries trade complementarity and trade cooperation strategy has a certain theoreticaland practical significance.This paper is divided into five sections elaborate, first put forward on tradecomplementarity between theoretical foundation and the three metrics, tradedependence, respectively, showing the comparative advantage and tradecomplementarity index; then bilateral trade is introduced in turn to China tradesituation in Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa, mainly from the bilateral tradevolume, commodity structure and the presence of a specific analysis; will use largeamounts of data, focus on the complementary analysis of China’s trade with four BRICother country, and trade dependence, the comparative advantage index and the tradecomplementarity index of empirical research; Finally, the BRIC countries to furtherdevelop cooperation in facing the obstacles and some solutions.
