Comparative Study Of Foreign Trade Structure In Bric Countries

As big emerging developing economics, In Brazil, Russia, India and China, the rate of economic growth Causes international concern, and, the rise of foreign trade plays a very important role in the four country's economic development. In recent years, along with the rising of BRIC Countries' international trade.the trade size, product competitiveness, trade partners have a lot of changes, this article's study is focus on the BRIC Countries' trade structure."BRICs" has a different pattern of trade development and special features, this paper is based on the perspective of sophistication which is designed by Rodrik (2003) Lall,etc(2005),Fan Gang,Guan Zhixiong,Yao Zhizhong (2006)analysing the BRIC Countries' overall trade structure. Using the interception of the latest data, and more detailed product category to calculate the sophistication of each country's export products, which could construct a four-nation trade structure graph of sophistication, as well as from the time series between the four countries were compared for vertical and horizontal comparison, the analysis make conclusion like that:though the "BRIC" trade is developing rapidly, in the international division of labor, the trade structure the four countries is still at a low sophistication processing stage, whereby, Brazil and Russia, mainly export resource-based products, while India export labor-intensive products.among this four countries,China's trade structure is in the relative optimization, the high-tech sophistication products are constantly expanding, but on the whole,china's export products still give priority to the low sophistication products.The next point is still based on sophistication, through calculating the index of competitive complementary and competitive pressures between China and the other three countries to analyze the competition and complementary of the four countries' trade structure in the international market, the complementary of the four countries' trade structure is very strong and lay a foundation of the cooperation between BRICs. In addition, the pressure that China's trade structure give to the other three countries is stronger than that the other three countries give to China's trade structure, however, as the rise of trade of Russia, Brazil and India, It will affect China's trade development, this article also on this basis present China's future trade policy with feasibility advice:enhance the cooperation between China and the other three countries and reduce the trade friction.
