This paper focuses on the main factors influencing the location choice of regional headquarters’ location site. By using related data of the leasing and business services industry as a fit for the size of headquarter economy of the mainland cities, empirical research is done with established explanatory variable system. The empirical results are as follows:among the various factors, the level of financial services and R&D capabilities of one city are the decisive factors for the development of headquarters economy; other essential factors include the level of development of the tertiary industry, the level of social infrastructure and the size of local market; at the same time, certain degree of economic development, information technology infrastructure and economic openness are prerequisites for a city to attract a bundle of regional headquarters. In the end, based on the empirical results and the experience of the famous overseas headquarter cities, like New York, London and Singapore, policy recommendations in concern of the main factors are made for the development of headquarters economy of the mainland cities. |
