This empirical thesis aims at studying entrepreneurs’opinions and suggestions toward the use and development of regional land transport logistics focusing on Thailand and China with fresh fruit exporters’case studies. The objectives of this work are to present facts and opinions to related policy makers and newcomer entrepreneurs determining on utilizing and developing logistics alternatives. The results of this research are expected to contribute better national measures upon the matter of facts which increasing Thai, including Chinese, entrepreneurs’ competitiveness in global, particularly this regional market.Statistically, Thailand has been China’s largest fresh fruit supplier. In this regard, more than90percent of exports are shipped from Bangkok (and Chonburi) to the port of Hong Kong before passing to Jiangnan fruit market in Guangzhou. Only few portions are pertaining to other freight channels as Cruising along Mekong River (2%), Travelling on cross-border Roads (9%), and Freighting by Air (<1%).However, all studies and entrepreneurs’opinions are unidirectional. They believe that land transportation, particularly cross-border roads and railways, would be an undeniable choice for cargo trade, and passenger travelling from and to China in the near future, especially after the anticipatory establishment of ASEAN Economic Community and East Asian Community. Two major reasons hampering Thai exporters employing the present land transport logistics are; first, the lack of information (1.73) about the routes and procedural operation. Another is its poor smoothness and low reliability (1.70).Only one superior advantage of land transportation agreed by exporters is it has better accessibility to explore Chinese markets, especially its southwestern potential economies as Guangxi and Yunnan. With this channel, fruit can be freighted from and to Southwest China by only2-3days compared to a week on shipping via Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Concerning the way to develop such channel, majority of exporters stress on four issues; first, they want the government to provide more information (4.43) which is not diplomatic but pragmatic facts. Second, they suggest the government to deregulate (4.67) some redundant laws and regulations, especially to standardize principles used in related countries along the path. Third, they appeal for more transparent (4.24) and efficient operation. And finally, they hope all countries could honestly hold their active stance (4.27) in cooperation afterwards.Aside from these opinions, the empirical data shows that there have been misleading perceptions between exporters and their government. Most of policies regarding the use and development of logistics system are approaching to exporters (traders), despite the fact that ones who dealing with such policies rather is freight forwarder (logistics service companies).
