Study On The Relationship Between Construction Land Expansion And Development Of Zhejiang

Zhejiang is in a rapid economic development, while extensive land use leads to an intense conflicts between the demand and supply. Since then, it is significant to study on the relationship between the construction land expansion and economic development in Zhejiang Province.In this study, different methods will be used to make a qualitative and quantitative analysis on the relationship, such as empirical analysis, comparing and modeling. First, a brief analysis will be made on the trend of Zhejiang’s economic development and construction land expansion; Secondly, relationships between construction land and different aspects of development is studied by Pearson correlation analysis, the Cobb-Douglas production function and multiple regression analysis; then, a set of simultaneous equations is built to discuss how construction land expansion and economic development interact. Here is the conclusions:First, The construction land area is increasing, and its speed experiences three stages-"increases-stable-low" with a strong consistengcy of GDP, and its spatial distribution remained stable; Second, there is a strong correlation between expansion of construction land and various dimensions of economic development.Third, construction land makes a greater contribution to economic growth, while technology and capital remain major contribution, and three major industries in Zhejiang have different impact on the expansion of constuction land. Finally, construction land expansion and economic development interact with each othor. Construction land expansion has significant effect on economic growth, optimization of industrial structure and industrialization, while only economic growth play an important role in promoting the expansion (industrialization not so significant). Otherwise, intensive use of land discourage the expansion and helps to improve efficiency.
