With tourism industry and knowledge economy developing rapidly in China, travel agencies are confronted with more and more severe competition. The the said competition really depends on the quality of human resources. The staff training, which can improve and perfect the quality and performance of human resources of travel agencies, plays an irreplaceable role in the advance of the tourism industry. Therefore, how to fabricate an effective staff training system suitable for travel agencies’ development and needs of their employees remains the basis of implementing staff training-related work.This paper, applying qualitative and quantitative methods and based on the current training practice and stragtegies of Hunan Enjoygoing International Travel Service Co., Ltd.("the Company"), first points out the problems widely existing in the training systems of different travel agencies through the questionaire survey, interview and data consultation. Then, the paper, by analyzing the strategies and employees’needs of the Company, tries to formulate a reasonable, scientific and effective staff training system in terms of training organization, training implementation, training courses and training assessment systems, providing significant reference for the staff training systems of other travel agencies.The paper upholds that in a market-directed economy talent is the very fundamental for the development of travel agencies. Only equipped with an oustanding employee team, can travel agencies maintain their sustainable development in the increasingly fierce competition stage. In order to reach this goal, travel agencies need scientific and effective training systems for their employees. Furthermore, travel agencies need to establish related organizing system for setting up dedicated training divisions. For best training results, travel agencies also should form their own full-time trainers’teams, designing and developing distinctive core training courses in the light of various demands.
