In recent years, the yield of peanut has maintained a steady growth inHenan province, but the deep processing industry of peanut started relatively later,comparing with Shandong province, the level of industry degree has lagged behind.With the analysis of the two aspects of the peanut material production and theprocessing of peanut, this paper first presents the status of the development of Henan’speanut industry. Then it aims to find out the current problems and insufficiency of thedevelopment of the peanut industry in Henan province, and provides the basis forfurther acceleration of the development of industrialization of peanut. From the threeaspects of peanut planting, peanut breeding system and peanut processing this articlefirst describes the phased changes and characteristics of peanut production in Henanprovince, and then analyzes the current situation of the development of Henan’speanut industry with the relevant information and data. Finally by using "cost-benefit"survey data, it calculates the technology efficiency of planting peanut in Henan,Shandong and Hebei province.Through the analysis of the status of peanut production and industry in Henanprovince, it shows that Henan province already has a certain scale of production ofpeanut. Including the planting area, yield and the level per unit of yields, Henan hasinitially formed a certain advantage in the country.But due to the influence of the poor technology of peanut cultivation andmanagement, the low level of the machining operations of the peanut, the insufficientinvestment in the research of the peanut and the poor mechanisms of thedissemination of peanut information, the efficiency level of peanut production inHenan is low.And then by using the method of SWOT analysis, it introduces thecompetitiveness of peanuts processing industry in Henan province. In comparisonwith the peanut processing industry of Shandong province, it concluded that theenterprise of peanut processing in the province are mostly small scale and fragmented;The technology of the Peanut processing is comparatively backward, and the chain ofpeanut production industry is short, the comprehensive level of the utilization of peanut is not high, The level of brand awareness of the related peanut products is low,and there hardly exists the related leading enterprises of the peanut. These problemsrestrict the rise of the competitiveness of the peanut processing enterprise and theproducts of peanut, and go against the development of peanut industry in Henan.According to these problems existing in the process of the development of Henanpeanut industry, there are suggestions and strategies to promote the development ofHenan’s peanut industry. One is the improvement and the innovation of peanut-relatedtechnology. In the level of peanut production, it is to research and promote thehigh-quality peanut breed and popularize the advanced applicable technology ofcultivation, and improve the mechanization of manufacturing peanuts; In the level ofpeanut processing, it is to establish the strict standard system of peanut production,and improve the ability of the independent research and development of the peanutprocessing enterprise.
