Abstract/Summary:
Potatoes are not only the important crops in Dingbian County, but also the dominant source of farmers’ income there. The cultivated area and yield of potatoes in Dingbian County come out top in china, and also the first in Shanxi Province.. Although the potato industry has obtained certain achievements, the production, processing, sales and other major aspects are in primary stage and level., which can’t satisfy the demand of the market Under the present condition, it is necessary to study potato industry specifically to make it bigger and stronger.In this paper, according to the present situation of the development of potato industry in Dingbian County and the significance of developing potato industry, the author bases on the national and the world potato industry development trend and scientific market general situation, using SWOT analysis method which may analyze and compare the advantageous macroscopic trade environment and policy conditions, natural conditions, and the advantages of location, science, technology, quality, industry comparative and market prospect to draw a conclusion about the superior conditions and development opportunities of potato industry in Dingbian County. The author will also analyze the unfavorable factors in developing potato industry through the analysis in market factors, storage factors, logistics factors, disease disaster detection factors,, marketing channels and marketing mode, and competitors. Using the theory of STP, from the potato market segmentation, target market selection and positioning of each of three analyses and research. Through the introduction of4C theory, which includes customer solutions, customer cost, customers convenience, communication, the author will discuss in detail about potato marketing strategy choice to find some potato marketing strategies and implementation plan. Finally, the author will make a conclusion about how to develop the potato industry, which includes four aspects., the first is to doing everything possible to improve the quality of Dingbian potato;second is to finding ways to reduce the cost of the product, provide different requirements for the different needs of types of consumer products, and make them feel cheap; third is to Increase the potato market building, improve the market information system and strengthen the potato storage and transport, reduce product loss, as well as science improved potato packing; fourth is to host potato culture festival continually, and improve the reputation and market share.This passage will have a certain guidance and reference value for the development of potato industry development, and other related agricultural products marketing can also learn from it...
