Company A Raw Material Supplier Selection And Evaluation Research

Supplier selection and evaluation is the core content of the supplier management. And it’s also the basis of purchasing administration and highly efficient supply chain. In order to achieve high quality,low cost, quick response, flexible production, enterprises must depend on scientific supplier selection and evaluation model for the best partners. Nowadays, many enterprises haven’t a formation of an overall evaluation system when facing the problem. So it’s impossible to select strategic partners without an effective supplier management, which have a tremendous impact on the competitive power of their supply chain.The thesis is against chemical industry and found some problems in supplier selection and evaluation for company A. Some researches were did through related theories. The thesis tried to use the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process to select suppliers. From the view of chemical industry itself, with the company’s actual development situations,the target is towards how to improve supplier selection and evaluation.First of all,the thesis stated the significance of supplier management based on the research background,domestic and abroad literature and its purpose and importance. Then, it introduced the theories and methods, establishing the theoretical foundation. Afterward, it analyzed the problems in company A, which led to the necessity of new evaluation system. Finally, by the method of AHP and through the suppliers characteristic classification, the new scheme was set up.This thesis falls into six chapters. The first chapter is the background and framework introduction. The second chapter is theories of supplier selection and evaluation. The third chapter is the analysis of current situation in company A. The fourth chapter is the design of new supplier selection and evaluation scheme against company A’s raw materials. The fifth chapter is the process of implementing. Ultimately it is the conclusions and outlook.
