Research On The Industry Transformation In Heilongjiang Reclamation Area

Heilongjiang reclamation area, characterized as specialized farmingarea，was founded under special historical background in China andcontributed much to the grain security of China. Under the influence ofvarious internal and external factors, a unique agricultural developmentroad depicted as scalization, mechanism and specialization, has beenformed. However, facing the decline of the amount of unused landtransferred into arable land and the improvement of modernization levelof agriculture, the reclamation area needs to adjust its industry structure.Meanwhile, with the development of marketization and urbanization aswell as the urge for the sustainable development, it is an inevitable trendto optimize industry structure and transform classical development model.Focusing on this practical requirement, this paper analyzed reclamationarea’s industry development from the aspects of development history,industry problems and the relationship with economy, based on thetheories and researches about industry structure improvement andtransformation paths. Then, according to the comprehensive analysisabout transformation factors, we explored structural adjustment andtransformation paths in Reclamation area. It is hoped that this researchcan shed some light on the sustainable development of Reclamation area.Main contents of the thesis are as follows：1. Based on the comprehensive and elaborate review, the theories related to industry and region development were combed, such as the economicgrowth theory, the evolution of industry structure theory, internationaltrade and regional cooperation theory, and sustainable developmenttheory. And then, the concept of industry transformation was defined andthe typical industry transformation paths were summarized.2. By reviewing the history of reclamation area, industry characters indifferent period were analyzed. Then, its existing problems currently, andthe relationships between industrial structural change and economicgrowth and employment structural change were investigated.3. The direction of industry transformation was identified, according tothe comprehensive analysis of transformation effecting factors andstructural adjustment. As is concluded, it is vital to propel thedevelopment of the secondary and tertiary industries and optimize thefirst industry.4. The possible industry transformation paths and its guarantee measuresin Reclamation area were discussed. It is suggested that the industrydevelopment modes should be transformed and enhanced from fouraspects as follows: establishing green industry system, improvingtraditional industry, building industry parks and developing modernagricultural service industry. We come up with the above-mentionedsuggestions from the perspectives of industry ecologization, industryconvergence, industry clustering and cooperation respectively.
