The competition pattern of China’s telecom sector has experienced significantchanges as the third shake-up concerning such sector was finished. Transformed fromoriginal fixed network carrier to current full service communications carrier as well aswon the3G operating license, China Telecom extended its operation scope fromtraditional business, i.e. fixed network voice communication, internet and circuit leasingetc. to a new one including mobile voice communication, mobile internet, SMS andmultimedia ringtone etc. and even further to industrial chain operation. Focusing upon thetelecom operation supporting system of ATelecom Corporation in the process of transitionas a research specimen, this article discusses the functionality and architecture design ofChina Telecom’s new operation supporting system in the context of full service operationand brings forth related construction thoughts and specific way of thinking in connectionwith the full service operation supporting system.Demonstrating the overall situation of China’s telecom sector in the first place andmeanwhile, describing the meaning of full service operation, this article analyzes theopportunities and challenges China Telecom faces in the full service operation age,stipulates relevant strategies and actions for China Telecom to implement in realcompetition and then introduces the research topic and significance behind such research.Later on, this article explains the current conditions involving A Telecom Corporation’stelecom operation supporting system and looks into a bunch of new requirements towardsfull service operation supporting system as A Telecom Corporation transformed. In a bidto cater for those new requirements, this article suggests a brand-new applicationarchitecture applicable to the full service operation supporting system and describes indetail from the perspective of4major fields, i.e. BSS, OSS, MSS and EDA and at thesame time, puts forward an all-round data architecture for such system. Taking theconstruction of A Telecom Corporation’s full service operation supporting system as anexample, this article finally brings into effective support and driving to the full serviceoperation through fulfilling3stages of system construction as well as considering designideas about the application and data architecture involving the full service operationsupporting system.
