There are more and more enterprises prefer to choose strategic alliance. However, the organizational structure and relationships of strategic alliances can be easily in anunstable state. The stability and instability are always alternately in the process ofstrategic alliance. So we focus this study on exploring the transformation mechanism. The study combined of logical reasoning and inductive generalization, static anddynamic, qualitative theoretical explanation and quantitative models. We sort out therelevant theory of strategic alliances and extract factors based on the existingtheoretical system. Rebuild the factors system as the basic elements of researching thetransformation mechanism of instability and stability in strategic alliance. And westart from the conversion factor to explore the conversion conditions and thetransformation process. Then we make an inframarginal analysis among internalproduction, market transactions so as to strengthen the analysis of transformationbetween instability and stability. By all above we draw some conclusions as follows:1. The instability and stability of strategic alliance is interrelated. The study ofprocess of strategic alliances, risk of relationship among the members and factors ofinstability and stability reflects the path from instability to stability, which confirmsthe dialectical relationship between instability and stability.2. The factor system extract and build based on the theoretical system of strategicalliances is more structured and systematic. Besides, the crossover phenomenon canbe largely avoided and covers the factors that existing studies consider.3. The transformation of instability and stability in strategic alliance happen whenthe combined effects of influencing factors change or the stability boundary changes. The former changes include the direction change and mode change of the vector. Thelatter changes occurred determined by the comparing results between endogenoustransaction costs, investment costs and market transaction costs.4. The boundary conditions of strategic alliance shows that, strategic alliance isthe equilibrium outcome that enterprises seek to save investment costs, lowertransaction costs, improve transaction efficiency and productivity.
