Material requirement of power generation enterprise has its own professionalcharacteristics. Management of material and spare parts inventory is related to safepower production and economic performance. And it can affect the ability ofenterprise competition in the market. In the past long time, nation owned powergeneration enterprises lack of scientific management and overall coordinationplanning in the production material and spare parts inventory. It caused too largereserves, unreasonable inventory structure and too much wasting.Power generation groups must strengthen information system construction,integrate resources, adopt the modern management theory of inventory and break thetraditional inventory management mode, implement centralized management ofproduction material, to reduce the cost of power generation and improve theenterprise’s economic performance, and thereby enhance the market competitiveness.Therefore, how to improve the inventory management and ensure scientificrationality inventory, reduce the fund of inventory and the cost of power generation,to achieve maximum economic benefit, is worthy of further study, is a problemdeserving of study.The research object of this dissertation is the Zhejiang Provincial Energy GroupCompany. On the basis of thorough investigation to enterprises’ production materialand spare parts inventory, and study of the characteristics of power generationproduction materials and the reality of the Zhejiang Energy, and study of theadvantages and functions of virtual joint storage, put forward innovative scheme ofestablishing virtual joint storage platform based on the EAM, is to solve currentinventory management problems, is necessary for Zhejiang Provincial Energy GroupCompany. The construction of virtual joint storage platform takes the moderninventory management theory as the guide. On the basis of the EAMs widely used inthe group company, adopt the method of intensive material management andmanagement informationization, optimize and integrate the inventory resources,reconstruct the material management mode of group, reengineer the process of planand purchase, to construct the database of storage, can realize information collectionof material request and supplier’s centralization of management, and realize the jointstorage and material adjustment. It can solve problems such as repeat reserves,unreasonable inventory structure and high inventory value etc. in current inventorymanagement. Constructing virtual joint storage platform is a complicated process. This paperdescribes the implement objective, organization, implementation principle, operationmode, implementation steps and construction process and so on in detail and putsforward related suggestions on how to manage the virtual joint storage platformscientificly.The solution of constructing the virtual joint storage platform in this paper has agood reference for other power generation enterprise. It can be used for the directionof making production material reserve strategies of power generation enterprises,optimizing the inventory structure of power generation enterprise, reducing thewhole inventory value and improving overall economic performance of powergeneration group.
