Since the reform and opening up, with China’s rapid economic growth, tourism has developed rapidly. After the mid-nineties, with our continuous improvement of living standards and disposable incomes increase, especially annual increase of Golden Week holidays, as the new force, the domestic tourism has developed quickly, and tourism growth rate climbed over every year. According to statistics in2001, the country’s total tourism revenue reached499.5billion Yuan. It is estimated that tourism revenues will account for the bigger proportion of GDP. People have more and more personalized, diversified, deep, and round travel demand. As tourist hotels, especially high-star hotels, in addition to high-quality reception capability, quality service and other factors, the personalized style of service is also particularly important. The hotels should allow visitors not only feel at home than to enjoy, but also to remember their personal characteristic which is different from other hotels. To create distinctive, personalized travel hotel’s business card, the background music is an important aspect can’t be ignored.As a leading tourism province, Sichuan province has rich tourism resources and infrastructure. In Chengdu, there are101three-star hotels,113four-star hotels,29five-star hotels. Tourism and hotel industry have showed more intense competitions and have presented a diverse, subdivisional and small minority characteristics cultural environment, Therefore, the Chengdu tourism industry must bring the distinct cognitive identification, the different hotel business card, and the different music symbols to the different people from the different races, regions and countries, which can establish distinctive music cultural flag and quality service in the fierce competition.Background music is an important component of enterprise culture in high-star hotels, so the paper focus on the background music of high-star hotels in Chengdu city, which is not only the necessary supplement of hotel hardware, but also the effective extend of hotel software, promoting the hotel culture taste, making special contents of hotel, and influencing its long-term development. The level of hotel cultural taste has been the important aspect of hotel management. Facing fierce competition in the high-star hotel industry, the competition of cultural taste has risen and is one of the core competitiveness of high-star hotels. Background music, decoration, the grade of bedding, lighting, wall painting, wall paper and services and so on can create different consumption environment, present special hotel image and cultural taste, and provide different service quality.In recent years, more and more consumers emphasize individual psychological need and spiritual needs. They measure the unique attractiveness and reasonableness of consumer behavior by emotional leverage, so it is very important to improve the cultural taste of background music in high-star hotels. These hotels should satisfy the customers’requirements which reflect individual character and advocate taste, so in addition to provide high quality service, the hotels should pay especially attention to cultural characteristic and personality quality, and shouldn’t ignore the special function of background music in making hotel cultural name card, highlighting individual characteristics.Background music of high-star hotel is an important part which reflects the hotel corporate culture. Combining various functions of background music, hotel service and consumer psychology closely can help hotels improve service quality, enhance the cultural quality, highlight the cultural heritage of the hotel business, promote the building of hotel’s corporate culture and create their own unique cultural brand. Improving the background music of high-star hotel is one of the most important marketing strategies to create high-star hotel features business card. Background music can fit the hotel’s architectural style, theme and consumer groups, show a different cultural style hotel and service characteristics. Printing unique musical taste symbols on the high-star hotel service business cards, so that consumers bear firmly in mind. Improving the culture quality of the background music of high-star hotel can enhance the hotel’s overall competitiveness. Chengdu’s high-star hotels all have perfect hardware facilities, comfortable surroundings and attentive service; however, these are not the only competitive advantage. Using the hotel background music which is the most glamorous and the most appealing intangible value elements, rich hotels culture, enhance the level of hotel services, give consumers an unforgettable experience, which can play an important role on enhancing brand image, or even directly improving the operating conditions and expanding market share.However, the rapid development of hotel industry in Chengdu does not greatly enhance the level of background music in high-star hotel, the blind use and follow of the background music which led to a lot of the hotel’s lack of their own characteristics, constraints of the high-star hotel overall image and service quality improvement. Therefore, the importance to improve the level of background music of high-star hotels is self-evident. How to maximize the use of background music to enrich the cultural connotation of the hotel, full the hotel’s community image, enhance the cultural quality of the hotel, attract more customers, better compete in the market and create more profit, all of these are thinking and research problem in this paper. In recent years, the number of high-star hotel in Chengdu increasing rapidly. But now the research and use of background music cultural taste for hotel is still in its infancy, most of the high-star hotel is also just stay in the general use of background music, the changes and impact of background music and arts brought on the hotel’s cultural image, consumer environment, marketing strategy, service quality has not really caused managers’advanced cognition and attention, compared to regional and foreign well-known hotel also has a certain distance.Only by highly valuing the long development of the background music of high star hotels, completing the design, management and using system of the background music system on the existing basis, and using corresponding solutions to current problems, the high star hotels can be along the personalized and branding sustainable development.In a word, the importance of improving the cultural taste of the background music is increasingly valued by more and more hotel managers and considered as an important step to build hotels, and this is the general trend of hotels’own developments and a non-ignorable important factor of developing hotel industry. In front of the mechanism for selecting the superior and eliminating the inferior, the high star hotels in Chengdu must improve their cultural tastes and qualities and complete their own service details so as to develop in fierce market competition.
