With the rapid development of economic globalization, many countries are closer in the economy integration;at the same time, the competition are more intense. The same industry in different countries began to compete in the international market——this is the problem of international competitiveness of industry. International competitiveness concerned about the industry’s position in the international division of labor, the development potential and the prospects. It is an important part of the national strength. Improving industrial competitiveness has become the ultimate goal of optimizing and upgrading the industrial structure and the government regulation.From the entire80s to the early90s of20th century, Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter has published 《Competitive Strategy》(1980),《Competitive Advantage》(1985) and《Competitive Advantage of Nations》(1990)。This three books put forward the theory of competitive advantage and discuss the "competition" problem from the micro, meso and macro levels.In the 《Competitive Advantage of Nations》, Porter put his theory from the domestic competitive field to international competition, and made the famous "diamond model". The model is a new method to understand the status of countries or regions in the global competition, it has also become an integral part of international business thinking. In addition, Porter is also introducing "cluster" view, meaning that in a particular area under a particular area, there is a group which concluding some interconnected companies, suppliers, related industries and specialized institutions and associations.
