As one of the traditional pillar industries and an essential part in Anji’s grossindustrial production and import-export trade, bamboo industry occupies a veryimportant position in the economic development of Anji, Zhejiang. In recent years,influenced by constraints inside and outside the industry, the reserve force of theindustrial competitiveness of bamboo industry is apparently insufficient, stepping intothe bottleneck stage of the industrial development. Therefore, it is more and moreurgent to upgrade the bamboo industry. As a native in Anji, the author took thisadvantage to conduct further research on the industrial competitiveness andimproving. The thesis has a certain value of theory and application.First of all, full playing her own advantage, the author traveled to Anji for severaltimes to investigate the place where the cluster lies. She has deeply studied series ofquestions like the status quo of Anji bamboo industry, the industrial competitivenessand its improving. Then, based on the systematical study on relevant theories likeindustrial cluster, industrial competitiveness, and industrial competitivenessimproving, especially according to Porter’s “diamond model” and JinPei’s frameworkof international competitiveness, index system that is appropriate for the evaluation ofAnji bamboo industrial competitiveness is structured with integration of the status quoof bamboo industrial cluster in Anji. Thirdly, the author further discussed theinfluential factors of industrial upgrade. Finally, based on the study mentioned above,the thesis further discussed the improving path of bamboo industrial cluster in Anjiand the relative suggestions have also been made.Features of this paper are mainlyreflected in the following aspects: First, most of the statistics and points of view areformed from bottom up in the field research. Secondly, this thesis structured the competitiveness evaluation mode of bamboo industry. In addition, improving path ofsustainable development which suits the bamboo industry of Anji has been managedto be proposed.
