As a basic problem of the production and operations management, production plan and scheduling emphasizes the redeployment of resources, the management of the production process, the logistics balance, the development of the production speed and manufacture cost saving. Being used widely in steel, chemical industry and medicine, the theory of production plan and scheduling helps enterprises remain the long-term profit and value. The research of production scheduling on aluminum is rarely found in literature, and the production scheduling optimization is seldom studied in china too. Therefore, the production scheduling optimization are studied to control logistics and balance logistics, which have an important theoretical and practical significance on improving production system, increasing production efficiency, decreasing production cost and maintaining on-time delivery date.With the consideration of aluminum production practice and the analysis of productive technology and management in aluminum enterprises, this article applies the theory of production plan and scheduling in aluminum production process, describes the constrains and objective optimization of aluminum production plan and scheduling and solves the production scheduling model by using an optimum algorithm. The main research content is summarized as follows:(1)First of all, this paper analyzes the basic characteristics of production scheduling and elaborates objectives and constraints of production scheduling optimization.(2)According to the characteristics of aluminum production plan, such as hierarchical, large scale, constraints of multiple, etc, taking the whole logistics process which from purchasing of raw materials to reduction and casting stapes into account, as well as minimizing the total cost of production as the optimal objective, a Linear medium-term lproduction scheduling model was established, then delivery commitment and optimization of equipment resources utilization were achieved through the model, finally, the effectiveness and the feasibility of the model was verified by the actual production data.(3)This paper formulates the production scheduling problem of metling of aluminum as a prize collecting Vehicle Routing Problem(PCVRP).The objectives include minimizing the set-up times, minimizing the total penalties of missing production. To solve this problem,a Genetic Algorithms and K-means Clustering are presented. Then using the actual production data to verify the model and algorithm. The results show improved model and algorithm can be applied to most of the aluminum smelting plant.(4)Based on explaining characteristics of aluminum production process and management, this paper built a production scheduling model of the aluminum casting with its equipment constrains and process constraints, discussed the optimization strategy of the production scheduling for aluminum casting.Combining productive technology with management’s characteristics,and facing the problem of multi-stage production plan and scheduling based on production plan and scheduling theory and TOC, the significance of research is to improve the project of production plan and scheduling, overcome the insufficiency of traditional experience, increase the production efficiency and resources utilization, and develop the applied range.
