As an emerging industry after World War II, Tourism has become the fastest growing,the world’s largest and one of the strongest industries for sustainable development in a shorttime. In the30years after the Reform and Opening, the tourism industry not only developedrapidly, and also strongly driven the rapid development of related industries and tourismdestinations. But30years’development of tourism industry indicates that, tourism shoppinghas always been the weak link in the tourism industry. According to the World TourismOrganization statistics, tourism shopping revenues remain40%to50%of the total tourismrevenue in tourism developed countries, while the percentage of China is only about20%,which has attracted the attention of scholars and experts.With the development of the tourism industry, the competition of tourism companiesproducing commodities is intensifying. As an important part of tourism industry chain, thehealthy development of tourism companies producing and marketing commodities willdirectly affect the development of the whole tourism industry chain. Recently, most tourismcompanies producing and marketing commodities are smaller, non-standard management.And their products can not meet the diversified and personalized needs of tourists.Therefore, how to promote the healthy and orderly development of tourism companiesproducing and marketing commodities has been a meaningful subject. Beginning with thesupply-side,This study analyzes the current situation of Tourism commodities and thedevelopment environment of tourism companies producing and marketing commodities aswell as it’s value chain. This study also focuses on looking for optimization path to improvethe supply of tourism commodities according to the relevant research. The ultimate objectiveis to explore new ideas and patterns for the development of tourism companies producing andmarketing commodities.The first chapter of the paper describes the background of the development of tourismcommodities and related literature review, research ideas and methods based on the fullcollection of related literature. The second chapter illustrates the concept of tourismcommodities, especially the concept of tourist souvenir, and expounded the theory of the valuechain, customer behavior and satisfaction theory based on a previous summary of tourismcommodities. In the third chapter, the author analyzed the price, features, brand and the types of tourism commodities in Qingdao through the data collection and research.In this part, theauthor also surveyed the market demand and the deficiencies of tourism commodities inQingdao by questionnaire survey. The fourth chapter illustrates the external environment oftourism commodities market in Qingdao. The fifth chapter summed up the organizationalmodel of tourism companies producing and marketing commodities with the method ofinterviews. In this part, the author also analysised the value chain of the companies from R&D, production, sales, service four facets. The author analysised of the relationship among thecompanies in the tourism industry chain in Qingdao. With the above theories and survey, inthe sixth section,the author suggested schemes to improve the value chain and the mode ofdevelopment of tourism commodities.In this paper,in order to ensure the scientificness and preciseness, the author used themethod of theoretical research, field research, questionnaires and depth interviews and otherresearch methods, which is hoped to cause related companies to pay more attention to theimprovement of their own value chain. We also hope it can promote the companies to havecorrect understanding of the situation of market demand and the deficiencies of tourismcommodities in Qingdao, and they can pay high attention to the solution of the problems,andthen promote the development of the industry of tourist commodities radically.
