Vocational education is an important part of China’s higher education, which is a significant exploration of the applied talents training mode with Chinese characteristics. In recent years, with the development and promotion in this area, vocational colleges have grown rapidly, becoming an indispensable form of higher education. The educational mode of Vocational education is different from that of general colleges and universities, which focuses more on professional competence and skills and is another essential access to students’ comprehensive qualities. However, the history of higher vocational education in China is not long enough with underdeveloped system, the researches of which are rarely found. With China’s accession to the WTO and the era of global economic integration, the personnel majoring in the fields of finance, trade, accounting has played an obvious role in this country. Thus, the orientations of financial vocational colleges have been one of the hottest topics.Through the analysis of the employment-related difficulties met by financial vocational college graduates, this paper mainly points out that vocational education should not be focusing merely on size growth but on strengthening the construction of connotation construction, and on attaching more importance to the sustainable development of their scope, structure, quality and efficiency. The educational level and quality will become a key factor in determining the future of financial vocational colleges, which will in turn, be directly reflected by the employment rate. Currently, there have been obvious problems appearing in the employment rates of varied vocational colleges---students majoring in scientific fields are much more welcomed in the job market than those who study financial subjects.Divided into4chapters, this paper conducts a tentative analysis on the current and future developments of financial vocational colleges. From the three parties involving colleges, employers and students, the specific and detailed discussions cover the problems of specialty setting, talent training, falsely-directed employments, unsymmetrical employment information, internship difficulties; the paper also brings up the view that vocational education concepts need to be converted and the graduates’employment hinders can be removed by speeding up curriculum revolution, improving modes of talent training, enforcing college-enterprise cooperation, thus vocational education could finally embark on the principles of "employment-oriented, regional economy-served, and college-enterprise-integrated".
