Nowadays, with the rapid development of the national economy, China’s construction takes off rapidly. There are many construction projects, and the amount of investment is fairy huge. It seems that construction companies have a rare development opportunity. However, in recent years, there are many problems in project cost control of construction companies and market competition becomes increasingly fierce, and in the meanwhile, the profit margin of construction companies is getting smaller and smaller. Under this situation, if the construction enterprises want to gain long-term efficient development, they shall mining the potential of themselves, and strengthen the management of project cost, thereby to increase the economic benefits of the project. Therefore, to study project cost control of construction enterprises has a very important practical significance for improving the market competitiveness of construction enterprises.This article uses the Twelfth Project of Nanjing Metro Line as a case, and analyzes the issues and countermeasures of project cost control of construction enterprises in order to provide reference for solving their cost control difficulties. Specifically, this paper includes five major elements:Part I:Introduction. This part describes the background, the objectives and significance of the study, and overviews relevant domestic and foreign literature.Part II:The basic theories of project cost control of construction enterprises. This part defines the relevant concept of project cost control of construction enterprises, and analyzes the features and contents of every steps of project cost control.Part III:The analysis on the issues and reasons of project cost control of construction enterprises.Part IV:Countermeasures of construction’s project cost control are presented.Part V:The cost control countermeasures are illustrated in various stages of construction by analyzing the twelfth project of Nanjing Metro Line of China Traffic Tunnel Bureau’s Third Engineering Company. Overall, the main innovations of this paper include the following two points:firstly, this paper launches a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the difficulties and countermeasure of cost control of construction enterprises by the case of the Twelfth Project of Nanjing Metro Line; secondly, this paper uses a combination of normative analysis and case studies which has strong persuasive and systematic effect.
