On Low Carbon Economy Development Strategy Of Liaoning Iron And Steel Enterprise

LiaoNing Province is the main Northeast Old Industrial Base in China. It is also one of the major iron and steel production base in our country. The iron and steel industry plays a pivotal role in the development of the economy in Liaoning province. However, as a typical industry with high energy consumption, high pollution&high emission, whose negative impact on the environment are a wide range of concerns. At the same time, as the international community’s growing awareness of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, developing a low-carbon economy has become an irreversible trend in the world. In this context, the real issues of iron and steel enterprises of Northeast Old Industrial Base in Liaoning are how to seek new opportunities in the low-carbon economy and adverse global steel macroeconomic environment. It is also one of the major social problems presents in National Social Science Funds Project Guidelines. This paper on the system through and review of current literature, and theory as well as in iron and steel enterprises in the background of a low carbon economy at home and abroad on the basis of a review of the experience, comprehensive analysis of the domestic and international environment for the development of iron and steel enterprises in Liaoning province, and its development present situation and the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges.
